Brian Dixon a steal at CB?

I was reading on the nola.com Saints app about the undrafted free agents the Saints have signed, and one player who caught my eye is Brian Dixon, cornerback from Northwest Missouri State, who stand at exactly 6 feet tall and is 195 pounds. This guy could possibly be a gem in the undrafted class, here's what nola.com says about him:
Rated 51st out of 220 prospects by NFLDraftScout.com...Carried a 7th-round free agent grade by NFLDraftScout.com... Clocked a time of 4.36 seconds in the 40-yard dash at his Pro Day, faster than any cornerback at the NFL Scouting Combine. Brother of Brandon Dixon, who was a sixth round draft pick of the New York Jets. Transferred to Northwest Missouri State from Joliet Junior College in 2012. Helped lead the Bearcats to the 2013 NCAA Division II Football Championship... Dixon played in 25 games with 22 starts over two seasons and recorded 51 tackles, six interceptions, and a recovered blocked punt for a touchdown... After recording 30 tackles and five interceptions as a junior, the Pompano Beach, Fla. native started all 12 games he appeared in as a senior and recorded 21 tackles, one interception, six passes defensed, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery.

He could be a practice squad candidate, but it'll be tough for him to make the 53 with Lewis, Bailey, Robinson, White, and SJB. Then you throw in Sweeting who made the roster last year, and has been working out with Lewis all off season, and AJ Davis who had a good camp before getting hurt.

Carried a 7th-round free agent grade by NFLDraftScout.com

This is true mm2316, he'll have to really shine in training camp and pre-season to have a shot, and it also depends on how many corners the Saints are going to carry on the 53-man roster. I believe he will at least make the practice squad and maybe in a year or two possibly be in the starting lineup.

Hey, look at it this way Hoodoo Man, what grades did Marques Colston, Chris Ivory, Pierre Thomas, and Khiry Robinson have before they were drafted/signed? In the end, it doesn't matter what "grade" they are given, it's how they perform on the field in the NFL. And by saying he could be a steal, I mean that if he becomes a great player, it would be a steal in the sense to where all these other teams passed on him and didn't give him much thought when the Saints did.

I'd say he's a downloaded a mp3 steal, but not a Hamburglar steal.

Uko and Coleman were the only two that graded better than 7th-round free agent.

Are we doing to hang on to the great White hope like we did Fred Thomas?

I watched some youtube highlights of him and nothing stood out. Made tackles after first down gains kind of stuff. Very Usama Young-ish on a bad day kind of vibe.
Whereas, watching footage of the 5-7 UDFA CB from Tulane, Strozier, now his footage stood out. That dude just flat out makes plays despite his midget measurables.
He broke up passes intended for the tall TE he was covering, he blitzed from the slot and either tipped a pass to himself or sacked the QB, blocked kicks on special teams, knocked RBs off their feet in run support, or shut down the slot receiver. He looks like a mini Mathieu.

These guys. He slid into the #2 CB spot after Greer went down and finished the year 2.8 grade (which is above average). Maybe he's not what you'd want in a #2 CB, but he's fine depth.
