I had never been to the valley in 30 years of being a Texan but a new job has taken me there a few times. It's pretty brutal to be honest. Better than El Paso. There's some good food and if you want to pick up bay fishing here's your chance. I'd live in the Los Fresnos, Harlingen, Port Isabel areas iff I had a choice
I will say this, I have never seen a better collection of beautiful Latina women than in the area. Absolutely astounding. I would imagine the strip clubs may not suck if that's your thing.

Better than El Paso.
That's hard for me to comprehend, since I've somehow managed to make my way into the two most impoverished communities in the US, in Brownsville and McAllen. And that's literally the case. I make more in a month than many of these people make in a year, and I'm not rich by any means. I went to Rii Grande City the other day, and surely they misdrew the border. I'm about to go god damn insane.
Surely El Paso has an Irish pub somewhere.
