Even if you could get Monroe for the price of Anderson, which you won't, it's just a bad fit. Anderson draws a big out of the paint opening the lane for guards, Monroe wouldn't. Even if he scored as much as Anderson, he wouldn't be creating more points for other players.

There's only one Ryno, and he's on our team. The rest 3pt shooting bigs aren't nearly on his level in terms of efficiency.

So how in the world do other teams get into the paint from the perimeter? It's obviously not impossible. Ryno is a great luxury. I'd love to keep him. But if there's a good deal to be had, I say capitalize on it. Granted, that doesn't mean throw in 100% for Monroe, though I think he'd be a good fit for our offense.

Defense? Not so much.

By going small ball or as corndeaux said, ball movement that we've only dreamed about seeing from the Pels. Lets look at another twin tower team that's been brought up already, Memphis. Mike Conley took 26.6% of his shots within 3 feet. Tyreke shot 56.5% of his shots within 3 feet this year. The twin towers might not pose a problem for Jrue, but we saw what happened to Tyreke when teams were able to pack the paint. Now obviously Monroe is more of a threat than Stiemsma, but Monroe took nearly 85% of his shots from 10 feet or closer last season. How far is he really going to drag his man from the paint? The one saving grace might be another capable target for Tyreke to dump off to, but I don't think Monroe will help him score more.
