Yeah its terrible. Its also how amazingly supportive people can be. We were discussing through texts about getting some money together and I suggested a fund be set up as I was sure it was easy to do. It was up an hour later and in a little more than 12 hours over $6,600 has been raised and a good amount of it is from people I know they havent seen or talked to in probably 15 years. Good stuff.
I think we will also do some more for them since we are his close friends. We already have the flowers set up and little things like making sure his lawn is taken care of.

Prayers for your friends (I actually will say them)
It is amazing how people come together like that. So many people contributed for my coworker. People want to help.
Start a food calendar, they have websites for that so people can coordinate and bring them meals.
Just be there for your friends. Don't worry about what to say. You don't have to say anything...just you being there they will appreciate.

I am going to see a girl I worked with ten years ago today for the first time since we worked together and she lost her baby (toddler) last month. Life is so sad sometimes.
