No The moment passed and he moved on to something else. I assume that we will need to have a talk at some time in the near future about the differences between boys & girls since he's now 8. I'll tackle it then or the next time he brings it up.

The things kids come up with. I'm sure he has most of his friends thinking girls pee out of their butts now since all things butt related seem to be a main topic of conversation for 7 & 8 year old boys.

You should let him know now that you usually have to pay extra for that. No reason to get the little guy's hopes up for nothing.

Is a man and woman kissing on TV OK for him to see ?

I think I'll save this one for when it's dad's night to tuck him in just like we did with the "you're body is perfect and good but some things are best done in private" conversation.

No. I came straight home for carpool at 3:00. That one was crazy with all that lightening. Looks like more coming. How was it there?

I just explain to them about genetics. We are here to procreate and make sure our DNA is passed on, I will tell my boys you cant do that by screwing dudes. It is just biology, nothing personal.

think it's a mistake to assume all gay people have an agenda. I think the majority just want acceptance, in which case it doesn't matter whether it's a choice or not. The only people concerned with whether it is a choice are those who feel that it's a sin.

True. Not an agenda per se, but definitely a narrative that it isn't a choice.

I'm sure if you really think about it, you can think of a gay family member.

I really can't- at least none that are openly gay. All my brothers and cousins are married/exclusive with a member of the opposite sex. I don't believe everybody's family has a gay member.

If it was genetic, it would have been a trait that disappeared by now.

I don't think you quite understand how that works.

For one thing, gay people can, do, and have for all of history reproduced. Whether they enjoyed the act or not is up for debate.

Second, genetics are obviously very complicated, and different genes can express themselves in different people in different ways, or not at all. Gene expression can even be influenced by outside forces.

Third, gene mutations do not necessarily simply disappear from the genome. Even if there was an easily identifiable set of genes that cause homosexuality, and if we didn't allow any of these people to reproduce and completely eliminated it from the gene pool, the same mutation could easily keep cropping up again and again in the future.

What?

Because gay people have never reproduced? Gay people have, forever, had sex with and even married people of the opposite sex because they have been told what they feel is wrong.
