A generation or so ago in aircraft design, when computer development was beginning to take a bigger role in cockpit automation, some of the alerts/warnings that had historically been lights, horns, or bells, were augmented with a computer generated female voice to annunciate abnormal or emergency conditions, ex., "engine fire," "cabin altitude." After a few incidents/accidents resulting in consequences that were greater in magnitude than would be expected by the initial problem, it was determined that the conditions were being prolonged/exacerbated, because some of the initial aural warnings(nagging female voice,) were being ignored by the(male) pilots, thereby allowing the situation to compound before appropriate actions were taken. So there's one group of men that apparently don't enjoy it.
