It's mostly the misconception that ULL's schedule is so weak that when they get to a regional against stronger competition that the good teams will be able to beat you.

What ULL does need to worry about it their pitching. Is Robichaux fully healthy? He hasn't thrown past the 5th since his return and been under 75 pitches, which may end up being a good thing. Baranik has thrown a few gems and but has had multiple rough outings, most of them recently until that dominant performance over Arky State.

Not that LSU is a lock for anything at all. As I mentioned before, I don't want to see UCI in Baton Rouge. You never know when LSU bats will lay down or break out and the wrong timing could knock us out quick. If ULL runs into a team with just 1 dominant starter and even an average offense, they could be in trouble. I would love to see a 3 game series for a super with LSU/ULL. More because I want to revenge the loss. I want to see how the .320 team avg fares against a guy like Nola and a weekend staff throwing the kitchen sink for all the marbles.

The question becomes do you want to play ULL in a super regional, or host a super regional against a team that was able to beat ULL at their stadium?

i think robe is fully healthy but has been on a pitch count of around 75, which i agree, is a good thing for us. baranik only throwing 86 in a complete game was huge for us too, if we can keep those arms rested instead of riding them to the 100-120 range this late in the year it bodes well for us.

i take this to mean supers right, which is a legitimate concern for us. in the past when we have face a top notch pitcher (albeit it was only one time) our pitcher also rose to the occasion and we were able to find a way to win.

To me it seems like when we need a gutty performance on the mound because we arent doing well at the plate we get one. those let downs(from our starters, bullpen scares me) usually come when the bats are putting up some runs and we have wiggle room to work with.
