My question is what do you do when its time to repair/replace the roof. How do the mexicans get shingles under the panels?
My neighbors roof sheathing is rotting from water leaking under the shingles where the panel mounting screws penetrated the roof, and the company that did the install is no longer in business. The solar panel business is turning out to be like the vinyl siding industry the 1970s.

We are installing a metal roof on our new home that will have a 15kw solar system. Panals attached to raised seams in roof and are relatively easy to replace although with a minimum 25-year life, we do not expect to have to deal with panel or roof replacement during our time in the house.
