Someone had mentioned a month or two ago that Roberts might pass the threshold of starts to increase his qualifying offer. Does anyone remember what the threshold was and if he passed it? I know that most posters will kick a dog if they resign Roberts, but it is definitely a possibility if he didn't pass that threshold.

If he did pass it, they'll probably just renounce his rights. I'm pretty sure they could still sign him as a free agency, though. Just not at the 3.whatever million that the option would increase to.

Disclaimer - Calm down. I'm not advocating resigning him. I'm just trying to lay out the facts.

41 games started and yes he passed it, 42 starts. However, just because he qualified for a higher qualifying offer doesn't mean you give it to him. Smith and Aminu are both guys we didn't pick up options on that we ended up resigning for the same or less than their option.
