IMO once married with kids and working, the days weeks and months seem to pass much faster than ever before probably due to so much less down time.

This. I got married and inherited kids at 28, also started a real job working 50/60 hours a week. Ever since that, time has flown. Im 32 now and every year comes by faster. Kids and working long hours will do that.
