But how do blacks know that white privilege exists?
Whites will never know what it's like to walk in a black man's shoes, yet this cross-race perception is available to blacks?
It isnt about walking in someone else's shoes, its simply acknowledging that reality that two people in an identical situation can experience different outcomes because of their race. I know I've never been pulled over when I was legitimately doing nothing wrong whatsoever, but I know several blacks who I have. I was even in the car with one of them, when a police officer pulled over my friend because he felt his car was too nice for a 20 year old black college student to be driving.

Please stop patting us on the heads with WONDERFUL intentions and telling us how unreasonable it is that you get to be so lucky.
Please.
It is not helping and it is pretty annoying to those that simply want to get on with it. Yes, it can be annoying to be treated in a SUB-STANDARD way. But, there is no value in whimpering along with us by emitting ululant cries of 'we have it so undeservedly well'
the soft bigotry of low expectations does not ONLY apply to test scores, etc. It means thinking we can't express dissatisfaction about being poorly treated without demanding an apology for you being PROPERLY treated.
I love you my friend. But, I despise the "we have it so much better that we simply MUST acknowledge it." Puh-LEEZE. Just live your life and demand that you be treated correctly. Treat others correctly in return. That is enough.
