His point is how marketing and the media shaped most people's opinions on Shaq and Kobe.

Shaq was the "good guy" when by most personal accounts - like this thread obviously - he can be a huge jerk.

Kobe was the "bad guy" yet by most personal accounts outside of basketball he's nice and down to earth, just introverted.
