yes. it could still be just the battery and probably is. your battery might be so "dead" that it won't hold a charge any longer.
however, if you take it to a parts place, they will test both for you and it will take about 1 minute.

Had same issue last year. Had to jump off to start. Parts store (auto zone) tested and it was a dead battery. No problem since new battery was put in.
