Yamaha 250 saltwater series 2 ox66. Runs fine but won't get past 4800 rpm. Usually tops out at 56-5700. Ran sea foam through it and no change Ran it for the whole weekend burning about 25 gals. Should have been enough to clean it out if it was some gunk in the fuel system I would think. Any ideas?

do the basics first
fuel filter,wster seperator,
sparkplugs.
check the compression on all of the cylinders make sure one of them isnt weak.
the 0x66 is a great outboard
unless your name is alx

First thing I would check is your prop, make sure it not bent and the ports on the prop are open if you have some.
