Road trip

With the schedule release yesterday, has anyone started planning a road trip yet?
I'm thinking about heading to Cleveland for week 2. For those of you planning on going to Cleveland and are looking for something to do while there, The Pro Football Hall of Fame is in Canton which isn't far from Cleveland. Here are some other suggestions that I have found.
The Indians are on the road that weekend but if you head up there a few days earlier you can see them play the Twins Sept 9-11. Reds are also on the road that weekend but are home against the Cardinals Sept 8-11.
Cincinnati Bearcats are a few hours away and play Toledo on the Friday night at Paul Brown Stadium. (Nippert is being renovated)
Ohio St is home against Kent St on the Saturday, but as of right now tickets on stubhub are $143. Another option for the Saturday is Bowling Green is playing Indiana.
This is what I came up with last night for those of you planning on going to the other road games.
Atlanta:
If you head there on the Wednesday or earlier, the Braves are playing the Phillies. Georgia is on a bye and Georgia Tech is on the road (at Tulane). Georgia State is playing New Mexico St and Georgia Southern is playing Savannah St.
Cleveland:
As stated in the OP, the Pro Football Hall of Fame is in Canton which isn't far from Cleveland. Dallas:
The Rangers are home that weekend against the A's. TCU plays SMU. North Texas is on a bye and Baylor is at Iowa St.
Detroit:
The Red Wings season will be just starting and you may be able to see a Pistons preseason game. Central Michigan is playing Ball St. Michigan St, Eastern Michigan, and Western Michigan are all on the Road that week. Michigan is on a bye. If you are willing to make the drive, the Steelers host the Monday night game against the Texans that same weekend.
Carolina:
This is a Thursday night game. The Bobcats/Hornets season will have just started and the Hurricanes could be playing home as well. I was able to see a Hurricanes game and two Bobcats games last year when I went. Appalachian St is playing Georgia St that weekend. Duke, ECU, North Carolina, and NC State are on the road. Charlotte and Wake Forest are on a bye.
Pittsburgh:
A Penguins game should be really fun if they play home that weekend. If you get there by the Tuesday, you can head over to Ohio for some MACtion. Kent St plays Akron and Miami (OH) plays Ohio. You can make your way to Detriot for the Thanksgiving game against the Bears. Bowling Green plays Ball St and Marshall plays Western Kentucky on the Friday night. Penn St plays Michigan St on the Saturday. Pitt and West Virginia are on the road that weekend. Ohio St plays Michigan in Columbus that weekend as well. I'm sure some people have that game on their bucket list.
Chicago:
Hard to tell what will be going on at this time until after the NBA and NHL release their schedules. Bulls and Blackhawks might play home as well as the Bucks which I think is only about an hour away.
Tampa Bay:
The Lightning might be home as well as the Magic if you are willing to go to Orlando. There will be several bowl games going on in Florida at that time as well.

All of those other events sound pretty crappy, outside of Canton. If I were located in NOLA, I think I would definitely be making the trip to Dallas.

I will try to go to Pitt. I have always wanted to go to a Steelers game (lifelong fan here when not playing the Saints), and this may be the first time I will be able to go. Other than that, no road trips

Pittsburgh.
I have been harping on people to come up for this game. You won't be dissappointed. Plus its a rare travel chance. Penguins will have started up again so there is that for other things to do. Other than that this town drinks a lot.
