re: "Picking" your favorite club

I 'picked' Chelsea in 1989 because their colors/mascot were similar/same as my high school. I was in the armed forces at the time and had a 72 hour pass while on the south coast. I went to visit a friend in London and she was clueless about sports (she is now a gunners fan). We beat Blackburn (like 3 or 4 to 1) and the rest is history. It is the only time I have gotten to see them play. It wasn't until fox soccer that I really started following them regularly though.
