Should we reshape our government? Hear me out...

Keeping up with politics and making the right decision IMO is a full time fricking job... I'm not a communist, but I do think the wealth distribution is a major issue... Everyone wants to blame the president, but his job IMO is pretty much impossible... I wanna blame the people, not the government, but their job is pretty much impossible to make the right decisions on all levels, while you know... living and raising a family.
I don't know if this is the right answer, but maybe we should reshape it so that we actually have time to speak to a politician, research them, and make sure they are voting in our best interests... I think for the most part politicians serve the interests of the people if they aren't corrupt... but I think they both become corrupt and stop serving the interests of the people because the people don't have the info or time to make the correct choice in electing one.
Maybe I'm wrong, I don't know... it's hard enough to take the time to make a correct choice on the president and governor... much less the senators and representatives... and then the local mayors, judges, etc... Politics have become like a big business.. Walmart or Target...

If you mean make it as small as possible and only relegated to a role of providing a national defense, protecting lives, punishing criminals who slander, steal and harm people, and enforcing private property rights and settling disputes between two private parties and staying the frick out of its citizens lives?

Not exactly what I meant.. but I don't completely disagree with you either. IMO, hard working citizen's voices need to be heard.. but they aren't... why? cause only two major groups have the time to research(donate to campaign funds) and vote.... the super rich and the super poor.
That and the fact that politics are so fricking complicated the average hard working person doesn't know how to vote, even for their own best interest...
I've got a bunch of people I know that would love to receive health care they deserve for an affordable price, but will continue to vote republican cause they think they won't be able to buy a gun if they don't. It's sad really.

Voting Republican or Democrat will do frick-all for healthcare prices. The problem is that folks think that voting, and government in general, has the ability (and responsibility) to solve problems. All you are doing is giving power-hungry sycophants authority over your life, backed by a monopoloy on force.
ETA: FWIW no one 'deserves' healthcare, or any other service/good. You only deserve not to be fricked with.

I agree with this too to an extent... I'm ok with just being allowed to live and die.. But if this is the case I might as well be able to have slave labor and pay mexicans to do my biding.. I could be ok with this as well, are you? I kinda think it's wrong though. But I could live with it.

So are you paying them, or are they your slaves who are made to labor under the threat of violence?
No man is deserving of another man's time, labor, or property, unless the other man willingly parts with it.

I'm paying them.. but between me and all the other greedy folks I'm not giving them much of another choice. I pay them so little it's almost impossible for them to better themselves... I even pay for my products or parts to come from other countries where their people are even more like slaves.. I'm rich bitch...

They have several choices. They can work for you, at an agreed upon wage. They can work for someone else, at an agreed upon wage. They can directly market their labor to all, for an agreed upon compensation. They can not work.
Scarcity is a very real thing.

If they didn't think it was better than their alternatives, they wouldn't agree to it. If they come up with a better solution, they will employ it.

These 'slave jobs' are certainly better than not earning anything at all, due to price controls on labor.
I understand that your intentions are in the right place, but I think you are missing some key foundations of economics.

I think I understand economics pretty well.. my issues are with understanding what we are willing to sacrifice and live with morally as a community to succeed as a nation.

Here is why government should GTFO of the market; Hayek's essay on Knowledge in Society
Once you get a basic understanding of what the price system actually is and it's role in a society, it will become crystal clear as to why government needs be as small as possible....or not exist at all.

There are no morals as a community or success as a nation. Each of these things are particular to an individual. Ascribing either to a group of 300,000,000+ is a recipe for disaster.

You are a communist. Might as well admit it
You think that everyone should share equally in the wealth and resources
Well sport, its been tried over and over and over again. And there is always the same result. Society collapses because the system is designed to reward the least amount of effort
Why get up before dawn to plow, feed, bake, water, etc if you will earn no more profit that the addict who slept most of the day away?

No, I'm not.. cause I'm ok with busting my arse off until I die or at least getting what I deserve for it. If I die tomorrow I'm ok with it... just don't ask me to pay for something I don't receive. Or make me receive something I can't afford.

I don't know what that means.. but at where I'm at right now.. that's truly my opinion... just let me lay there and die... sell my shite to please have me cremated... And take a few bucks home for your time to do so.

I don't know what that means.
It means that you are attacking an argument which I did not make.
In no way, shape, or form, did I suggest that I would leave you to die in the event of an emergency.
I am simply suggesting that viewing success, morals (or really anything) through the lens of a community or a nation, rather than an individual level, is misguided.
ETA: On a lighter note, if you are two hours north of Birmingham, you are either extremely close to my hometown, or a dirty Tennesseean.

I think you are taking my statements on that as sarcasm... they aren't... I'm for fricking real.... literally let me die... I'll be 100% ok with it.

I'm going to assume that you are going through some difficult times, and wish you all the best.
