Murder rate in NOLA dropping

This was covered on here during the mayor's race:

The actual murder rate is down but shootings are WAY up. Quicker EMT response and better practice by doctors have led to the decrease in the murder rate.

Or poor aim. I'm not sure which

Honestly, crime in my area had skyrocketed .. Just last week there was a home invasion in broad daylight, three cars stolen and one burglarized ... On my block ... I'm sick of it.

this is false. total shootings increased marginally, but that's probably due to better reporting. the proportion of deadly to non-deadly shots dropped, which brought NOLA's average closer to the national average, though it's still MUCH higher.

NOLA thugs are good shots compared to elsewhere.

Doctors saved a few extra people but they did not account for 20-25% murder drop. That would be miraculous.

Soon, you people are going to acknowledge that N.O. Is changing. The city is booming and the thugs are being priced out of the market. Cock roaches don't like gentrification and lights shining on them.
And the criminal justice folks finally started focusing on the most violent criminals and have partnered with the Feds to whip some arse.
