ok ok ok...I cant find what I posted a while back. It was about a dozen reasons or more why "negas" have issues with Miles.
Basically what Geauxgert said on p. 14 summarizes quite well. Heres the cliff notes:
1. Better in-game clock mgmt. and use of time-outs.
2. Proactive instead of reactive in handling certain player/coach problems.
3. Showing up and having the team ready to play every game...particularly against clearly over-matched opponents.
4. Developing more of a killer instinct when we have a lead.
5. Less of a mule-headed offensive philosophy when things aren't working.
6. Sticking with players who have the "hot hand" in games where often times these guys disappear on the sidelines.
7. Answer questions directly when on camera...forego the "coach speak."
These are a few things he could do to get ppl off his back and he has made improvements in some areas.

Similar lists could be made for even the greatest of coachs. Expecting perfection out of anyone is ridiculous. And don't even bother saying you don't expect perfection, because you'd be lying.

So basically you've pointed out everything he's done wrong in the time that he's been here....
You expect SUPREME PERFECTION in a world where, in all reality, competing for SEC and national championships are about as close to perfection as you can get.. This isn't NCAA on the Xbox bro, you can't win every game by 45 points, have your QB throw for 500 yds, your RB rush for 250, two receivers with 150+ yards while signing every 5* recruit with a pulse.....
Your expectations are unrealistic and until you realize this, you will never be satisfied with the golden age of LSU football...

Admit it, RTR (those initials betray you) most of the negative types are just crybabies. You among others didn't like the Miles hire and are nursing your butt hurt over this fact. Is Miles perfect, hell naw but perfection is impossible so you fixate on his mistakes. Instead you come in here and pontificate. If that is what it takes for you to validate yourself, then I suppose it serves a purpose.
Understand these painful facts:
1. Les Miles is a very good coach
2. Les Miles knows way more about football than you will ever know.
3. Les Miles knows more about the assets and liabilities of the players than you will ever know.
4. The people that really matter are pleased with Les Miles.
Painful, I know but that is just the way it is.

Premature posting.

Has he not gotten better? That problem didn't seem to exist with Jimbo and Cam maybe Crowton was expected to call time outs and have sub packages ready. Either way he seems to be more on top of it now.
quote:so he should just fire coaches and cut players before they do something wrong? The last three major coaching issues he seems to have made home run hires. Dual DCs - Chief, Stud OC - Cameron, and Stud OL - Busta Grimes.
2. Proactive instead of reactive in handling certain player/coach problems.
quote:I agree we should never lose to UAB...oh wait.
3. Showing up and having the team ready to play every game...particularly against clearly over-matched opponents.
In 2011 we annihilated all of our foes except Bama and that was with a decent offense. I believe this will become more common under CCC. Now if you are talking about beating scrubs by 60 points versus 25, what's the point?

5. Less of a mule-headed offensive philosophy when things aren't working.
Again he is not the OC but let me get this straight, when the offense isn't executing you want to complicate it?
quote:so now you are saying that because you know everything that's going on with player health status that Les is just randomly changing players?
6. Sticking with players who have the "hot hand" in games where often times these guys disappear on the sidelines.
quote:What coach does this? And actually if it is important enough and doesn't impact his game day coaching he does. See the rant about not going to michigan and defending his players.
7. Answer questions directly when on camera...forego the "coach speak."

I'm a Miles fan. Your list is a good one except...

Miles is the best I've ever seen at this. He almost never loses against over-matched teams. This year's Ole Miss game being the rare exception.
