I think so. It may be one of if not the best rock album from the 90s...perhaps one of the best albums period.

Most people seem to prefer Gentlemen, but I think Black Love was their apex. Whenever I pull a Whigs album to listen to, more often than not it's Black Love.

Black Love is their creative apex I think, although I like all their releases. Written like a crime noir screenplay. Great record.

I know Gentlemen got the limelight as far as album releases from Afghan Whigs but Black Love is best album by far.

I actually love 1965. That is my favorite of theirs and one of my favorite albums period.

'Faded', however is my favorite Whigs song. I believe it cloves Black Love. I could listen to that all day.

It is my favorite of theirs, and never seems to get much discussion. Perfect candidate for "underrated" as I see it.

Crime Scene Pt. 1 is my favorite overall song.

This.

1965 is their weakest release. Well, that or their latest, which I unfortunately have not taken to.
