I don't think 4-6 seed is out of the question if we can move Gordon for something useful, say Gordon for Tyson Chandler. But I don't see that happening, and this team even when healthy did most of its damage to under .500 teams. Without any major additions by subtraction of Gordon, we're probably more in the 6-8 range.

Who of us really knows, but that sounds reasonable to me. Here's what we'll never know, though. And that's what would have happened and how Monty would have adapted (or not) with a relatively healthy roster throughout this season. Would he have found the rotations and "best five on the court at the right time" answers?

I don't see it at all. The 8th seed this year won 49 games and was 16 games over .500

I see the Pelicans at their full strength being more like Phoenix or Dallas. A fairly solid team who is fighting for a playoff spot.
