Should Forrest Gump 2 be about Little Forrest rather than Big Forrest?

I think there's a lot of potential in little Forrest's story, especially since the first movie ends nearly the exact same way it began.
If dumb Forrest could accomplish so much in life, imagine what smart Forrest could accomplish, especially provided his father's investment in his future.

A sequel should not even be attempted.

I would rather leave the entire storyline alone. Good movie. Don't ruin it.

and I already know that there was a sequel novel written call Gump and Co.
However, if a sequel is ever attempted, I think screenwriters should approach the story from Little Forrest's point of view rather than continuing Big Forrest's life story.

If little forest is anything like his mama, there'll be lots of cocaine. Especially with that trustfund.

Gump is a New Orleans Saint in the follow up.

Little Forest dies of AIDs, along with big Forrest. Jenny fricked them up for life

Forrest does play for the Saints in the second book.
He also fights in Desert Storm on a secret mission with an orangatan.

As discussed in the Nick Cage thread
In the movie he plays Haley Joel Osment all grown up and Tom Hanks reprises his roll. His best friend in the movie is Sean Penn reprising his roll from I am Sam. And Forrest's best friend is rain man

I hope to God they aren't actually doing a sequel

They've been trying to do the sequel for a long time, but it was first delayed by the 9-11 attacks and now it is being considered again.
Many book reviewers say the second book is better than the first, with Larry King commenting that the second book is the funniest book he's ever read.
Plus, one of the celebrities that Forrest meets in the second book is, of all people, Tom Hanks.

A sequel almost happened.
Forrest would have witnessed events like the OJ Simpson thing and the Oklahoma City bombing.
9/11 killed the project though.

Little Forrest isn't half retard. Nobody would watch.
