They don't all play with the same run support, defense and bullpens though. It is a terrible metric to judge starting pitchers, and I am sure no front offices even look at it when evaluating pitchers. In 2012, Cliff Lee made 30 starts with a 3.16 ERA and 7.5/1 K:B and had a 6-9 record.
