Dogs are property just like washing machines.

Fine.

Keep your property secured so that if it flies out of the back of your truck, it does not harm anyone else.

I have no idea why this is such a heated topic. This should be pretty easy to understand. It puts the general public at risk when you have unsecured property in the back of your truck.

Because if we're going to bitch about something like this, we should also include dogs riding unsecured in the cabs of vehicles until I see evidence that dogs in the bed are dangerous while dogs in the cab are not.

Because any new law is a ploy by the government to control every aspect of your life and eventually take your guns. At least that's what I get out of most threads.

Give me a fricking break. Just getting on a roadway with nothing in your vehicle puts people at risk. I have a Golden Retriever that would rather ride in the back of a truck than services 50 in heat bitches in a bacon factory. The only way he's coming out is if I or somebody else causes an accident. I'm not stupid enough to ride around with a dog that may or may not bail out the back. And I don't think dogs flying out of trucks has reached such a pandemic that we have to have our nanny arse government telling us not to do it. There are morons out there who don't have sense enough to own dogs, much less let them ride around in a vehicle. But I and my dog should not be punished because of them. And it's not that I'm some huge advocate of dogs in trucks. It's just on more freedom that is being taken away from us and I don't like it.
