You think that maybe, just maybe the local police got info that this garden store was specializing in indoor marijuana cultivation? just saying
I don't know what the local police or the DEA have...because they won't answer any questions.. Let's say you're right though and they did get a tip... How does one small purchase equate to enough suspicion that you would feel it necessary to go through her trash?

Why do you feel you need to be rude?
Why do you feel the need to trample the constitutional rights of the citizens of this country whose tax money pays your salary and who you are supposed to be serving?

It's hard to be civil when you realize you don't live in a free country anymore.
Yes it is. Especially when someone is advocating against your rights as an American citizen.

Why the focus on pot raids?
Low risk. You can swat mob an 80 year old womans home, get a statistic in a book and little to no push back.

Why not go after the harmful stuff like crack and meth?
That requires things like actual police work, risk, violence, possibility of an incident, bad neighborhoods, resources they dont have because they spend them on pot raids, and a willingness to actually try and make a difference.

I think it's because pot raids are a lot easier and safer.
agreed

By "specializing in indoor marijuana cultivation", do you mean they sold common gardening equipment?
No, I mean they specialize in indoor marijuana cultivation. There are some businesses that will specialize in that.

Does Walgreen's 'specialize' in selling ingredients to produce meth?
yes, and LEO's began working pharmacies and arresting cooks and "smurfs" which led to a big reduction in labs.

hydroponics does not imply marijuana indoor farming.
as a cop, you should probably educate yourself on the technology.

So Walgreen's specializes in meth ingredients? Specializes? What other stores should I avoid if I don't want Brownshirts kicking down my door?
By the way, bang up job fighting meth. You hardly even hear about it anymore.

Of course. They're padding their stats. They want to keep the money rolling in for their cool gear and outfits without any of the risk.
They're really not that good. The last time they went up against armed men who were ready to defend themselves that got their arse kicked and ran away. Then they used a tank to burn down the building. See the thread on the first page about Waco.

Oh come now cpt, you dont expect the police to do actual police work when they can just legally round people up on mere suspicion in hopes that one of the people's rights they trample happens to be a criminal do you?

I dunno, but lets say all the other clients of this shop is a known marijuana dealer or grower.
Would it be reasonable to check her out as well?

all of them are? or they only have one other client who is a known dealer and uses multiple aliases?

Under the definition of reasonable as a normal person sees it? no. If i go to walgreens to get cough medicine and the police are watching it because a meth dealer also shops at that walgreens I would pray that i wuld not be suspected of meth problems because i happen to go to the same store. However the sad reality which you are advocating for is that anyone who walks into a place where a criminal happens to be is now reasonably subjected to police surveillance and investigation. And that is not reasonable to anyone except a police officer who doesnt give a shite about anything but covering his own arse and the asses of his brothers in blue regardless of how many rights are violated and whether or not what they are doing is right or serves any purpose other than statistics for grant money.

Well that's not the case here and therefore a non issue.. In the article, albeit limited info, the results seem scattered, without focus and reeks of attacking low hanging fruit in the hopes of finding something big.

you really dont understand do you?
If i link you to a how sudafed is used in the meth process article will you agree that anyone who shops at walgreens should be investigated?
Hydroponics can be used for many things not just marijuana.
Marijuana needs a light above it. Will you now investigate all Lowes and Home depots that sell the preferred type of bulb used? Cause I'll link you to an article about which bulb to use and where to find them.

based on that cop logic, anyone who uses money is a drug dealer.
You should start yourself for suspicion of dealing drugs.

What is the point of that link? That marijuana uses the same equipment as any other indoor grow? By the way, why are you visiting howtogrowmarijuana.com? Maybe a raid is in order.

He visits the same sites as many marijuana smokers, he should be investigated to the fullest extent of the law

Silly goose. Cops are above the law.
