Sadly I haven't been able to watch but by looking at the box he's doing really well:
18 points 8 rebounds 5 assists
20 points 10 rebounds 6 assists
He even had a near triple double a few games ago

He's averaged 42.5 minutes as a starter, prorating pts/ast/reb down to 36 minutes vs his season Per 36.
Starter 16/4.7/7.6
Season 14.2/4.2/3.5
Rebounds are way up, but other than rebounds, his per 36 numbers aren't really different as a starter considering the scoring options the team was missing. That's not saying he performed poorly, just that he performed as expected. He can penetrate, he can protect the ball, and he can stay in front of his man way better than Roberts.
I don't remember if it was the Houston or OKC game, but I thought he had plenty of openings for 3s that he didn't take. I certainly don't want him forcing shots he's not comfortable with or breaking the offense with Hero Ball, but I just remember several times when he was waiting for picks to be set thinking he was open enough if he would just pull up and shoot the 3. I guess his defender was backing off him trying to get ready for the pick so he could stay with Rivers through it, and with his penetrating ability it makes sense that they would do that. If he would start pulling up and knocking down 3s in those situations...

Had to have been OKC. He took a bunch of midrange jumpers vs. Hou that they gave him and surprisingly knocked them down. We shot 22 3's vs. Hou (6 from Rivers) so I can understand how playing Monty-Ball you don't want to jack that number up to 30 or so. Our guys pump faked a lot in the 2nd half (they looked tight), or he likely would have had his first career TD. He also would have been a lot closer with home statisticians over Houston ones (Harden had 13 assists). Our team in general had some ridiculous number of TOs midway through the 3rd (3 iirc).
I am really praying Monty was trolling us all this season by glueing him on the bench (this is very hopeful thinking). He's going to be coming off the bench next year unless he's traded (I'll be PISSED). So I'm hoping Monty was just getting him comfortable in that role.
I've been waiting to see him play extended minutes ever since Jrue went down so don't potentially ruin BRob's chance at a contract elsewhere by getting him hurt and rushing him back MONTY. For some reason, I half expect to get to the arena tonight and be treated to BRob back in the starting lineup!
Tiger, both his starts have been on the road and we have all seen how much of a difference that can make in the stat-keeping (again, Harden with 13 assists). I'll be interested to see how close he gets at home in these last 2 games. He should flirt with a TD at least one of the games. I know that typically you get rewarded with an assist as long as the player you passed to take 1 or fewer dribbles and I know for a fact they didn't count a couple during the Hou game.

That's why people need to go out and support him and the team the last few games. If we can steal one of these last 2 and Austin goes off playing with our bench, boom. Show the kid love.
