Doc you seem like a smart guy, well educated, you would need to be to have everything you have at this point.
Which is why I don't understand your current line of thinking. Sell everything and go underground? I don't know about that.
I think you just need to make sure you keep doing what you have been doing. Live under your means. Diversity. Don't put too much cash or other assets in one place. If you are really concerned about a collapse, invest in a few things that would help you if one occurs - some guns and ammo, survival food and kits, land in the country, etc. Buy a good safe and keep some cash at home, that sort of thing.
Just don't be like an old client of mine, who believed like you did, bought a couple of million worth of gold coins and kept them in a bank vault. As I told him, if there is a collapse, how are you going to get into the vault?

dont ever keep money in a vault that you dont own.
want to really hide money put it in a below ground safe that is water proof and bury in the ground and get the gps coordinates and keep them in a few places in case you cant get to them. also in a few emails in different email accounts. dont label it money gps coordinates.
