Dude is off to a horrible start, he has been one of the worst MLB pitchers in the last 2-3 seasons. How the hell could such a successful franchise give this dude a new deal worth tons of cash?

He has a mustache? I don't even want to see how horrible that is

Has he lost his FB yet? This usually happens when flame throwers lose velocity. They either have to learn how to pitch (Bartolon Colon) or quit.

Tossed a no-no last year. What is crazy he still had several good-great starts last year. He had more bads ones though. He seems to have that one bad inning

Terrible or not Timmy is still a draw for giants fans. The giants like that
Worst signing of the offseason for the giants with vogelsong being a distant second
This staff is gonna hurt our chances

He's lost some velo for sure. Part of that had to due with the 22 pounds he lost one offseason. Not sure if he's put that weight back on though.

How can giants fans support a dude who gets shelled almost every time?
Didn't they hate Zito?

Yea, Lincecum has given them some Cy Young seasons and even helped them win a couple World Series titles. Fans are a lot more forgiving when you do that.

Completely lost a pitch, his slider. Hurts his arm to throw it -- well now I feel stupid. Fangraphs still has him throwing the slider the same percentage of time. Reports I've read in recent years have claimed he's abandoned it altogether.
When teams chase the circle/split, whatever you want to call it, he's dangerous.
His FB velocity has dipped, but not drastically. He leaves it up time to time -- which a 91 mph belt high FB gets blasted.

Read this if you think Zito was horrible the whole time: the 2012 World Series would NOT have been possible with out him:
On October 19, 2012, Zito rebounded and pitched arguably the best game of his career, tossing 7 2/3 shutout innings against the St. Louis Cardinals in Game 5 of the National League Championship Series (NLCS), earning the win.[76] It was his first postseason win since 2006 and according to Zito himself, was the biggest win of his career.[77] That same day, Zito inspired the Twitter hashtag #rallyzito, which, behind the efforts of Giants fans, was trending worldwide on the social networking site.[78] The Giants, after trailing 3-1 in the series, prevailed in seven games.[79]
On October 24, 2012, Zito pitched in the first World Series of his career. As the Game 1 starter, Zito earned the win, outpitching Detroit's Justin Verlander by tossing 5 2/3 innings of one-run ball. Zito also added an RBI single en route to an 8–3 Giants win.[80] The Giants went on to sweep the Tigers in the World Series, and Zito went 2–0 with a 1.69 earned run average in the postseason.[81] Zito did not lose a single game after August 2 against the Mets, and San Francisco won his last 14 starts.[82]

Timmy will always be revered by giants fans , so no hate....more like an understanding of the inevitable, although there still exists those giants fans that think he will somehow revert back to freak status. It's fandom
Sabean didn't need to sign him to that deal, but that's what he's known for......negotiating against himself.
Of course as far as the ownership group goes, Sabes can do no wrong.......2 WS rings will do that for you whether you deserve it or not.

True but when you sign the richest contract all time (at the time)for a pitcher, a fanbase expects more than 2 outstanding outings especially considering the circumstances when zito was signed
Almost all giants fans are very pleased the zito years have passed

It's ridiculous how much Goldschmidt owns him.
13 for 24 with 7 HR and 16 RBI
Two HRs off him already this year after tonight.
ETA: Just saw the thread about it
