Shame you're getting downvoted. I didn't jump out of perfectly good airplanes but served with many who have. My old platoon sergeant in Korea was psyops and had a mustard stain on his wings, only guy I knew who had a combat jump. In the same unit I served under a SGM who was SF and was a master parachutist.

How large is the Airborne Fraternity on TD?
I have 33 jumps but anyone who has airborne wings is in the Airbirne fraternity, whether that's 5 or 20. Don't know why you throw out a random number of jumps.

My intent with the thread, which I started more than three years ago but was recently bumped by The Wolfman, was to focus on those who post here who served in Airborne units on jump status and receiving jump pay in the more recent years, say, the past 30 years.
I was trying to narrow down the time frame to something to the recent past and I was trying to avoid the posts from the "well I didn't but my dad did" people. There are so many people have been to Army Jump School but have no other jumps that I wanted to keep them out of the thread in order to reduce the numbers responding.
I wasn't trying to be exclusionary or discriminatory to anyone. I was simply trying to get the active duty or recently active duty jump status Airborne people to step forward and be recognized. I think that's how I came up with the number "20" which does seem random, so, it warrants my explanation.

If I remember correctly:
5 - Number of jumps required to get basic wings
12 - Number of jumps required to attend jumpmaster school
35 - Number of jumps required to get your star. Multiple caveats, including types of jumps, and numbers of jumps as a jumpmaster/safety, are included.
65 - Number of jumps required to get your wreath.

Good on you sir. I didn't go to Airborne School until I was already a 31-year old Major and can safely say that I cannot find one redeeming thing in mine and my wife's experiences at Ft. Bragg and especially in 18th Airborne Corps.
That unit is the one unit that I don't display or post anything from nor will I ever.

I'm a five jump chump cuz I was heavy mechanized Artillery. Don't measure your dick size by the amount of jumps you have. Just remember... an Airborne POG who is Airborne with a lot of jumps is still just a........POG.

What's your beef with Corps/Bragg?
Genuinely interested. May be headed there next.

I was stuck at the same desk at Corps Headquarters basically to rot at my first post-ILE assignment for 3 years and was blocked at every attempt to get into a different unit.
The mentality there was if you left the office before 7 at night and didn't come in during weekends and DONSAs on your own you were scum.
I'm sure if I was assigned to 82nd or an actual unit that was worth a damn I would feel differently.
