Don't know why the OP didn't just post in the OB in the first place...

I'll add a couple things:

1. If you unholster your gun, you should use it if you KNOW the perp is armed, or you feel he MAY be armed. If you can see both of his hands and he isn't holding a weapon, you don't HAVE to use your gun. People who say "you should use it if you draw it" mean to say "you should be READY to use it if you draw it."

2. Every situation is different.
