No way people are going to vote in an 11% sales tax.
We all know that isn't happening.
I'm betting its just the mechanism for SG to begin collecting sales taxes themselves and it will be in place of the parish tax and not an add on.
If I'm wrong I'm wrong but that's the only thing that makes sense.

You still have not read the bill, have you?
There is nothing in the bill which provides for a vote of the residents of St George to authorize the additional taxes.
Of course the SG citizens would not vote for it. White knows that.
So his bill authorizes the "temporary" increase by itself. No vote by the people is needed.
