I just want to see a hungry Dempsey again. He didn't play terrible, but I still think he's playing complacent.

Green should have shot first time or backheeled it for E.J., you can tell he knows where to run.
Anyone else notice Demps got fouled from behind all night, no calls, but the flopping Mesicans got free kick after free kick.
Their first goal, Zusi had zero pressure and put it out for a corner, their 2nd goal the guy knocks ths ball back into the middle of the field, leading to a breakaway, when the ball should have just been headed out for a throw in.
Goodison might have to replace GONZO, he has been regressing.
Donavon looks out of shape, his chubby azz should have went to England during the break.

Next to the backline, I think the most alarming thing is that Donovan is entering "Fat Ronaldo" territory.

He has the potential to run defenders ragged on the left wing. Hopefully Ribery takes him under his wing because he could learn a lot there. He hasa lot of the same skill set that Ribs has. Quick on the ball, explosive after one move. Solid with both feet. If he can learn to understand the game and slow it down mentally, he'll be devastating for defenders.

If Fabian isn't our LB in Brazil I will cry. I don't even want to think about Beasley starting.

Very. Bayern wouldn't be giving this guy Champions League minutes at 18 years old if they didn't think he could be special one day.

Tonight was vintage Clint Dempsey, he looked confident and classy on the ball and had some killer through balls. I knew it was a matter of time after his move to MLS until he found his old form back.

Hopefully Pep gets serious about giving some of the young guys (Green and Højbjerg mostly) minutes but after that champions league showing, that's probably on the back burner.

Is he playing LB or LM at Hoffenheim?

Most everyone impressed me in the first half. I have been critical of Deuce lately but I thought he played fairly well, also.
Zusi did whatever was needed, Besler was rock solid, Beckerman wasn't bad. Brad Davis didn't do much for me. I liked what I saw from Green and Edu as subs and Landy showed some good stuff as expected.
But Bradley, he was incredible in a more free role...

Did he not play well when he came on? I didn't see it, just saw it mentioned that he was brought on. Who were they playing?

His free kick was beautiful.

He played in a CL game a long time ago. The first team looked like shite on Tuesday so Pep isn't going to worry about bringing up the kids right now and instead focus on fixing the regular squad. Next season is a big season for Julian

JG was fine today...Bayern was not in 1st leg...Next stage in doubt after that crapshow on the soaked pitch in Manchester.
No room for error in München next week

I'm amazed at the progress he has shown, especially considering all the club changes he's had over the past few years. He just keeps getting better and better. I honestly think that, outside of the best 4 or 5 clubs, he could fit into any side in the world and not look at all over his skeez.
