Oh, my bad, I don't rate Nagbe as high as you do, so naturally, I have no idea what I'm talking about, but you do.

Got it.

Nagbe is quite good. Definitely an international level talent, but I'm not sure he'll be top 5.

Every list should contain Guzan.

Guzan may be top 5 for us right now.

If a 2nd choice GK is top 5 for us right now, then we shouldn't even bother going to Brazil.

Thankfully, that's not the case:

1. Bradley
2. Howard
3. Donovan
4. Dempsey
5. Fab Johnson

That doesn't even make sense.

We shouldn't go to Brazil because we have 2 world class keepers?

Are we talking about top 5 players that we hope have an impact?

I'm not debating Guzan as a potential top 5 for the 2018 WC.

You said he is top 5 now, which I disagree with.

As of now, he's better than Dempsey, which you put at #4.

In terms of this world cup, I'd rate Bradley, Howard, Donovan, Dempsey, Fab, Cameron, Besler, Johannson and even Altidore ahead of Guzan in terms of what they've done for club and country in the past calendar year.

Then you aren't watching. Guzan has been really good for Villa. I'm not sure what Howard has done that Guzan hasn't in the last two years. The only reason he can't show it on the international stage is because Howard is in front of him. He's had 60 something appearances for Villa, while recording more saves than Howard every season he's started. Let's not discount him just because he's a GK. He's a superb player and only a handful of countries have two top keepers like we do.

Well, that's just an asinine assessment on your part and you should feel bad.

12 clean sheets from Howard in this season alone for Everton. He's having, arguably, his best season of his career.

I'm not discounting him, rather don't view him as a top 5 player for the USMNT at the moment simply because he doesn't feature and won't feature unless Howard goes down with injury or gets suspended.

Yeah, it's nice to have another EPL-caliber keeper in our chamber, but when is the last WC where we've used 2 keepers?

2010 – Howard played all 4 games
2006 – Keller played all 3
2002 – Friedel played all 5
1998 – Keller played 2, Friedel played 1
1994 – Meola played all 4

No disagreement there.

To be honest, just based on your opinions in this thread (ie: Meh, with no further explanation, saying Guzan hasn't done much, etc), I would say that's an on-spot assessment.

Oh and you listing Nagbe had a lot of explanation?

My bad.

And I would say my last post had a lot of explanation in it, you just don't want to lend me anything because you are pissy that I don't agree with your Nagbe assessment.

Guzan has 8 on a team that is much much worse. And while Howard is having an amazing season, Guzan has done plenty for club to warrant inclusion in our top five players list.
