The problem I have is people whose lives REVOLVE around marijuana. Ultimately it's their choice, but the people who live to toke, who are stoned all the time are, in my view, pretty pathetic. I think it's a waste.

But there are people who can and do use responsibly, and like Roger said, it really boils down to individual liberty anyway.

Not my problem, it's their problem.

The addiction argument is flawed in two ways.

1. Pot is just like alcohol is just like gambling is just like sex is just like eating is just like watching QVC, etc ad nauseum. People with addictive tendencies will always find something to become addicted to. It's a strawman argument at best as people already get addicted to it even though it's still illegal in most places.

2. If we learned anything from Prohibition it's that banning the public from something it really wants only increases that desire and makes the doing of it more hip and cool.

Let it be legal, regulate it like alcohol and move on to something important.
