Is our hitting issues a slump or a sign of poor offense?

This question needs to be asked I think, many people right now are IMO overreacting. Saying that this is the worst offensive team ever, and stuff.
Anyway is our offense that bad, or are we just in a slump that we will over come eventually. Please explain your reasoning
I say it is a slight mix but mostly a slump. Here is why.
1) Bregman our best hitter has had 3 hits since the start of SEC play. He is clearly in a slump he was the best hitter in the SEC maybe even the nation last year, even great players have slumps.
2) Ibarra, while he has struggled this year so far he was a strong hitter last year
3) Lots of young talent that still has to pan out. Scivicque could be on of the LSU greats at the end of his career. Robertson showed good potential at the beginning of the year.
4) we didn't start last year out that well in SEC play that doesn't help confidence, one good weekend for LSU could turn things around.
5) we have plenty of hard hit balls every game, we don't seem like a bad hitting team, rather a decent hitting team that is hitting the ball right at fielders.
6) our worst hitter by far last year was stevenson is now one of our best hitters right now. Batting over .350 last time I checked.
so what do you think?

I said earlier that I thought this team would hit as well as last season, minus the little power we had last year.
They seem to be doing their best proving me wrong at the present.

In years past, we have been missed timely hitting. This year we are lacking any sort of hitting at all. The amount of k's by this team is incredible.

Javi is one of those guys who can improve things by his absence...

I never would've thought Bregman or Ibarra would be in slumps either. I'd have to imagine at this point we can only go up with hitting. But hey, look at UCLA last year...not exactly the best hitting team ever.
I'm baffled by both. I can kind of see Bregman pressing a little too much but Ibarra? He's been in a slump since the end of last season on forward. Too long in the Javi Sanchez pop-up special system?

Ibarra and Laird both saw good pitches to hit last year bc of Katz and Rymes. Bregman will not see shite all year bc nobody can protect him.

you obviously haven't been watching this season so far LSU has an SEC low of 96 Ks as of Sunday's game.

Seeing some of your typing tonight, I'm thinking you've been drinking.
But...I think Javi needs to go. Someone has to, and it's not going to be Mainieri at this point.
Also, I don't recall Robertson doing all that well at the plate to start the season.

Good point. I can see that definitely contributing to both problems right now too.

Id say scivicque is protecting bregman pretty well.........and having someone behind you in the lineup to "protect" is one of the most overrated things in baseball

Team can't hit, plain and simple. And no it isn't "timely hitting" it's that they just cant hit this year

his first few plate appearances he hit decently, he shows a lot of potential at the plate IMO.

if we can't hit why are we on the top half of many hitting categories in the SEC?
LSU 7 of 14 in BA 2 of 14 in Runs scored 8th in hits 2nd RBIs 3rd Doubles. I know stats are misleading but you guys are clearly overreacting
