Nah.

They would be no bigger than the evertons and tottenhams of the EPL. Supported well. But not a global brand like Liverpool, arsenal, and Chelsea.

Would they have support globally? Sure. But for the most part, no one would care around the world.

I picked United to watch when I was a little kid because I loved playing with them on FIFA and my dad had a couple of their old jerseys. I'll be the first to admit I didn't have some lofty aspirations for picking United, but I was also in the second grade. I have developed a deep connection with my club after all these years, but, yes, I was an elementary school bandwagoner and IDGAF.

I understand that and respect that. But being that we are thousands of miles away, that's the closest connection one could have. Outside of a family connection or something similar, which is rare.

Saying the only team in a major city like Manchester would be on the same level as the 3rd team in London and the 2nd in Liverpool proves how out of touch/new you are to English soccer.

Just because they are in a major city doesn't necessarily mean anything.

The Yankees and mets both play in New York.

The Yankees have won a frick ton of World Series. They are a global brand. And have global fans.

The Mets haven't. And have none.

frick, manchester city is in the same city you are talking about. Why haven't they had huge support before they were good? Genuinely asking, if there is a legit reason i would like to hear it

Man United has always been Manchester's team from day one.

b/c the locals gave zero fricks about city just like the mets.

Dude you are really fricking clueless. Might as well ask the same question about why Liverpool is the main team in their city and not Everton.

Because Man U was good on day one. City was not

You are literally arguing against the point that your team is a historical global powerhouse and that's why they have so many fans

no you are so fricking lost and clueless on English football history.

If you actually did some research you would know United had a massive following for ever. The successes since SAF is just a part of it.

When United were playing in Division 2 during the 1974-1975 season, they still had the highest average attendance of any club in the country, including Division 1.

I'm still talking in a global sense.

Sure they would be supported within manchester. But that's not what this conversation is about

quote:

Newsflash: if united didn't win those 20 titles you talk so much about. Nobody would give a frick about them

im done with this shite, you are clueless and I have a flight to catch to Miami in a few hours.

I'm arguing global presence.

You are arguing presence in England.

Yeah, totally. It's just incomprehensible that the first modern day football stadium in England paved the way for stadiums such as Old Trafford, you know, stadiums that came around 20-30 years later.

City's value

The Blues are also better at every level below the first team – and that is acknowledged by Reds coach Phil Neville and their striker Robin van Persie, whose own sons are in the Blues academy.

The two are tied together. Just think about what you are saying. One of the most popular teams regardless of success in the worlds most popular and most televised league would not be a global brand. That just doesn't make sense.

This is actually awesome and hopefully we see these guys make it to the first team.
