even Monday Night football has kind of fallen off some. That use to be one of the premiere games of the week. But now it seems like the majority of the matchups aren't really all that appealing. The matchups are almost on par with the Thursday night games.

its because the matchups are pre determined and generally focused to big media markets. its why you get a lot of cowboys, jets, giants, patriots, eagles, and skins games. What's worse is many of those teams sucked last year so you got what you got.

Thursday games are awful. It's a short week. Game plans can't be fully instituted, and guys barely practice before playing. I know the players absolutely hate them.

oh yeah, I get that. It really is hard to hit a homerun with these matchups. The schedules get released in what, April?

I think they've done alright with flexing some games to Sunday Night. Obviously you aren't going to get it right every time though.

The NFL (and Roger Goodell) need to realize that the public is beginning to realize that they're full of shite and they need to slow their roll.

You're not pussifying the game because you are concerned about safety. You got busted for not giving a shite about your former employees and now you need to CYA.

There is no "public mandate" for an 18-game schedule or more Thursday night games. This is all about lining YOUR pockets, so just freaking be honest about it.

They are so condescending and paternalistic. They've reached the point where they think they know better, and they can just ignore public opinion and tell people that "this is what you really want."

They have not reached the tipping point yet, but when they do, you have to think that they will be smart enough to back off and avoid the implosion.
