Scruffy plans on switching, but he was forced to buy all Mac products for school. Sucks because Scruffy hates Mac products.

Personally though, Scruffy doesn't really care what phone he has as long as he can surf the web, make phone calls, and text. Everything else isn't really important.

It's funny how today's simplified criteria for a phone includes surfing the web. I remember in 2006 saying "I just want a phone that can make phone calls," but that definitely changed when surfing the web on the phone wasn't so cumbersome.

The blind loyalty to iPhone is perfectly understandable. It was the first of its kind to hit the mainstream market (large screen, multi-touch interface, direct finger input), so the immediate adopters included people who have never owned an Apple product in their lives, and iOS was a new interface for everyone. A year prior, most of these people, myself included, didn't even know they wanted a phone with legitimate internet browsing capabilities. So there's a combination of the "I know iOS and I like it" and the "I don't really know what I'm missing with other mobile OSes, so I don't care" mentality.

Really? I thought you were pre-med or in med school? If you were in graphic design or the like I could maybe, MAYBE see having to buy all Mac for school but for med it's pretty surprising.
