Had the ending of the series spoiled for me, so that may bias me a bit, saw it did not think it was good enough to watch beyond this one. Story was weak. Universe wasn't well setup, just felt like this was just a cash grab of using the same post apocalyptic strong female lead as some other series.

The books were written well after Hunger Games so it kinda is. This won't be the only one.
However, I do feel the story stands alone. I read all 3 of the books and thought the movie was well done. The changes they made worked for creating tension on screen.
I still like Hunger Games better but Divergent is a fine movie.
