I did copy and paste! After I posted over there, I saw this thread...can't hurt to ask around, right? I'm too lazy to re-type everything, though.
Bootlegger: I have Centipede grass in the back yard. But, if I'm not mistaken, it seems like there's also St. Augustine in large spots. Does this happen often with newer neighborhood developments (~10 years old)?

Most newer neighborhoods I've seen either sod with St Aug or hydro with centipede/ carpet. Very possible I reckon. Have the local feed & seed run a soil sample. That'll tell you your pH and if you need lime.
