atrazine
I ask because an arborist told me never use the fertilizer/weed killer granules in my yard because of all the trees I have.
He said the weed killer in the granules will eventually build up and reach the roots of the trees and will kill them.
He said the liquid weed killer herbicide will evaporate enough to not affect the trees.

You can get the atrazine in a granular form with a fertizer mixed with it. It will not kill your trees if you follow the label.

The liquid herbicide does not evaporate, it is absorbed by the soil. A granular herbicide disperses/melts as soon as water comes into contact with it where it is then absorbed by the soil.
