With Rubio and Pekovic it seems like they'd rather reload than reset. Now if say the Lakers get a top 3 pick and offer Wiggins or another potential star for Love, they'll have to think about it, otherwise you have to reload, especially if you want Adelman to come back.

I don't see how Minny considers such a trade, as other teams would have more to offer even if they didn't have a Wiggins or Exum.

The Lake Show can trade this year's 1st right after they are drafted, but they have no additional firsts for trade until at least 2019, no 2nds until 2016, and the only players under contract for next season are Kobe, the corpse of Steve Nash ($9.7m), Robert Sacre, and Kendall Marshall's team option.

Love's contract is so big that it also limits how much the Lake Show can take along with him if Minny insists they eat long-term contracts like that of JJ Barea, Corey Brewer, or Kevin Martin.

A single 1st round pick would be the worst return on a superstar in years on paper, even worse than the Grizzlies trading Pau Gasol to the Lake Show for Marc Gasol and 2 late 1sts.

Supposedly the Wolves really wanted Gasol. So they could package him in a S&T some kind of way. That might help the numbers come together. If it was the 1st pick of the draft, plus Gasol, maybe the Wolves might consider that..
