Yeah it really is a shame, when you have guys like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_oUtJxE4sjs

Then you have some frick head who works at Mcdonalds, come along and pull that type of fake shite.

Simple test would have been to try and take his tab off.

If they could without much ado, he's a fake

My uncle is a combat veteran of WW2. He told me anybody who brags about being in combat is a liar.

The accent sounds like something one might hear at a reservation of some sort.

I dunno. I knew a sniper that kept a slideshow of his kills as his screensaver. He loved to brag. I knew a lot of guys like that actually.

Its a totally justified reaction. This isn't some guy pretending to be a student somewhere or lying about hobbies, its a slap in the face to everyone who's worked their arse off, sweated, bled and died in the uniform. This guy deserved the ridicule he got and he's lucky he didnt get more.

Yeah, I've worked for a lot of military-based 501(c)(3)'s and the combat veterans aren't real forthcoming about any of it. Their stories are generally told by others (i.e. me) and "____________ are the real heroes" is a cliche for a very good reason.

he'd make so much fricking money if they gave him "more".. so i'd say he's unlucky that the figs that were offended didn't get physical

I'd love to see what a real E-8 would do if someone in civies told him to put his headgear on.

He'd probably say thanks, so long as you weren't rude about it. After all "it's everyone's duty to make on-the-spot corrections".
