Gave interviews for some anti war org. Claimed he routinely slaughtered babies, on orders. Wore his uniform like a dumbass. They put the interviews out on YouTube. Hilarity ensued. He tried to show his doctored DD 214(hilarious on its own). It later came out that he didn't make it past reception battalion at basic.

The worst part is that someone filmed it vertical. When will people learn?

Semi-OT on the thread but that reminds me of the recruit who had a conference held at his high school, was choosing between Cal and Oregon, committed to Cal. Problem was he never got an offer, from anyone.

What began as teenage insecurity ended up morphing into one of the tallest tales in college football history. One calendar year ago, Kevin Hart, a no-name offensive lineman from Fernley, Nev., staged a farcical news conference, fibbing through his teeth and announcing he'd be playing football for UC Berkeley -- even though Cal didn't recruit him, eyeball him or talk to him.

I know a lot of guys who exaggerate their service record but I've never met anyone who was busted for falsely claiming to have served.

dragging it out with non-stop ridicule just makes those guys look like assholes.
How? Why are they assholes for ridiculing someone wearing a fake uniform to get attention?

If you have Facebook search for the page "stolen valor". Unfortunately there are cases like these almost every week.

I've never served so I can't really speak on the matter, but I've heard that the ones who have true combat experience and have had to do some real shite aren't so eager to talk about it, and that generally speaking, it is easier to spot a bullshiter by the more willing they are to talk about "their stories"

Ahhh yeah I saw that, guess I never heard that reference...
Thought you meant he worked for Triple Canopy, the security company that does gate duty in the middle east on our deployments Thought maybe he faked his way into a job

Some soldiers saw this guy at a gun show and demanded his ID. He claimed to be an active duty Captain.
eta- That's where Triple Canopy took there name from.

Well, at least he didn't promote himself past E-1
I was looking for rank insignia on him, I didn't know the story.

It's covered up. He had CPT bars.

He could have made his point better without all of the childish profanity.
