You could always look into getting a really good registered cow, some f1 tiger stripes cows, do some embryo transfer from the registered cow and get several really good calves off her every year.

That's a big deal in the longhorn business. They are not meat cattle, but every few years a bull or cow comes along that just shatters previous known avg. measurments for total tip to tip. Some of those cows sell for $30,0000 or more.
People who are big in the business will flush (collect embryos) from the mating of the best of the best and transfer them to dairy cross cows for their good milking abilities. So you end up with good milking cheap mama cows and high dollar longhorn calves.
Right now these are two of the widest longhorns in the industry...
