I was in the same situation. New job that involves travel and decent amount of gas expense. Chase Freedom does 5% back on gas 6 months out of the year and 1% back on everything else year around. Only had the card for about 7 months and have racked up a decent amount of points. No annual fees either as my company would not reimburse for personal credit card fees.
