I don't know if anyone has been talking to the cat character in Majula after getting to Drangleic castle. There is some pretty cool lore that she throws your way.
It sounds like the Lost Sinner was imprisoned for trying to light the first flame. Cool little tie in to Dark Souls 1, maybe?
