Les Miles against Proposed Hurry Up Rule - or is he? You decide

Hopefully not Germans, but, when asked about the proposed NCAA rule change on stopping hurry up offenses, Les Miles came out against the proposed rule (I think) and had the following response:
Not sure what he just said, but I still think he is against the proposed rule. Classic Les Miles. No stop the clock jokes allowed in response either. That would just be too easy.
By the way, I am a Posi-Tiger, but this is still too funny not to share.
quote:
Miles agreed, although as often is the case, his explanation was complicated.
"There's little or no evidence that would say that injury is likely," Miles said. "Having said that, the incidence of injury in football is 100 percent. That being said, 'He hurt his hand. Why? Because he was playing football. He hurt his elbow. Why? Because he was playing football.'
"Fatigue, if there's a guy on there that's tired, here's how we handle it: We played Oregon and Auburn and a number of teams that use the up-tempo offense, right? Here's what happens: The guy goes like this (patting his head) when he gets tired. When the ball is stopped, he runs off the field quickly. And we put another guy on the field quickly. It just happens. As the time it takes to get on the far hash, it becomes difficult to do, don't get me wrong. But in the ebb and flow of the game, it's not been an issue for us."

What in that didn't you understand?
The injury part? That's pretty easy.
The part where he describes how LSU handled the hurry up offense? He has a system of signals. What's not to understand about that?
I think that quote is more informative than funny.
Where am I wrong in that assesment?

I would assume he's against based on those comments and the fact he used a lot of hurry up running plays this season.

Really? That seemed pretty straight forward and easy to understand

Basically calling Saban a little titty baby

It sounds confusing just because he is playing devil's advocate with himself and addressing all possible angles of thought. In the end his opinion is quite obvoius as the poster ahead stated. Since its inevitable to get injured in College football, the hurry up increases the probability of a player getting hurt (more playes, less time, more mistakes etc etc..w/e you wanna make of it). Otherwise, shite happens. Deal with it. LSU has found a way and we do well against them. Other teams, like Bama etc dont fare as well, ex. against Texas A&M So they have a more fervent opinion against it.

If Les spoke in more uncertain terms I could understand him.

Is there video of this? I'm sure it is pretty amusing.

After reading what you quoted, that's one of the clearest things he's ever said. Seemed pretty straight forward to me.
Cliffs:
You play football, you get hurt. Guys may get tired faster vs up-tempo teams. If they do, we sub them out. It can be a pain to do but hey, that's football. It hasn't been an issue for us, as evidence by our kicking the asses of Oregon, Auburn, and TAMU

Were his fingers fully extended and abducted during this motion?

I don't see what is funny.
Miles came out very strongly against the proposed rule. What are you confused about?
