I was on one to ATL a few years ago that did the same thing. If it was the same one, I was scared shitless!

Happened to me coming into New Orleans. After the chaos and engines screaming as pilot pulled up to circle around , he announced to passengers that a tail wind had pushed us too far down runway. Had he landed, we would have ran into terminal building because he couldn't stop it in such a short distance.
A way steeper climb and hard bank than I would have ever thought possible in a large plane.
