Look at the LSU guy who died last year by driving his car into a Bayou on his way south on Nicholson.
He wasn't on Nancy Grace.
(Not trying to be irreverent to the more recent accident
it's just like kidnappings...if a "ugly" kid from a poor neighborhood gets abducted no one ever seems to hear about yet. however if a "cute" kid from a rich neighborhood gets abducted it's plastered all over the media.
it's all about which one is more marketable.
which one will the media choose to cover:
1) attractive 19 year old female goes missing during mardi gras and turns up dead in a submerged vehicle
2) 30 year old male disappears during mardi gras and turns up dead in a submerged vehicle
the media will almost always pick the female because it's gonna be more marketable and draw higher ratings

Exactly, and the 30 year old who went missing and wound up in the lake is labeled as "extremely intoxicated from Mardi Gras, shouldn't have been drinking and driving, and was lucky he didn't kill somebody else"
